Q2 2024 SF product Updates
New Event available - abandoned records

In June 2024, Silverflow released a new event type for abandoned transactions ("com.silverflow.clearing.abandoned") under the "https://silverflow.com/clearing" event source. When a transaction has been submitted for clearing, there are two possible end states. First, the transaction is cleared and the platform creates a ReconciliationDetail. Second, a transaction is returned by the card networks. When that happens, Silverflow investigates the record and retries clearing when possible. If the transaction cannot be cleared it will ultimately have to be Abandoned. Please find more details on the event on the Guides page under the Clearing Events chapter: https://docs.silverflow.com/guides/event-notifications

Updated Guides and APIs Showcasing Our Support for Payfac and Marketplace

Marketplaces are third-party agents that connect consumers and sellers on a single marketplace-branded platform. Popular examples include Etsy and Amazon. In Western Europe, marketplace e-commerce as a share of retail e-commerce consistently increased between 2014 and 2022, from 35% to 42% (Euromonitor). We believe this will continue to grow powered by the likes of Temu and Shien!

Unlike standard e-commerce websites that take payment directly from the buyer, marketplace owners process payments and get a commission from each sale while enabling retailers and sellers to reach a wider audience. Also, e-commerce websites have just one seller, while marketplaces have multiple vendors. Do you have marketplaces you would like to onboard as an acquirer?

Our flexible account hierarchy permits acquirers to create the structure required to process payments for Payment Facilitators and Marketplaces. This can be achieved by creating a collection of merchants and/or merchant acceptors. The card scheme-defined PayFac ID or Marketplace ID can be set in acquirerOrPayFacBusinessId. The (sub-) merchants are identified by the mid and/or the subMerchantId.
