Mastercard Announces Revised Standards for Authorization Data Insights for Select Countries in the Europe Region
Mastercard is introducing a requirement for acquirers to have access to near real-time insights into authorization data and be able to conduct research on authorization activity in order to quickly detect anomalies and optimize approval rates. This mandate goes into effect on 1 May 2024. Silverflow is pleased to offer multiple methods for detailed transaction-level insights via the Silverflow Portal as well as through the various API endpoints. Support for partial authorization is no longer mandatory for the European Payment Ecosystem
In November 2023 Visa announced the expansion of partial authorization in the Europe region making it mandatory for a specific 14 MCCs (see bulletin). In the scope of this mandate were debit and prepaid card-present and card-not-present purchase transactions. However, after extensive consultation across the payments ecosystem, Visa has decided to no longer make partial authorization mandatory but strongly encourages supporting this authorization type for these specific MCCs.
